WEB-BASED EMPLOYEE PAYROLL APPLICATION DESIGN IN TB UTAMA USING LARAVEL

Abstract

Employee salary information system is a vital requirement today. This is because the salary information system has an impact on various aspects, especially effectiveness, efficiency, and transparency in payroll and data reporting.  This research aims to improve the efficiency of the employee payroll system by developing a computerized system. The company experienced obstacles in manual processes involving Excel files that had to be replaced every month and reporting using hard files, increasing the risk of data damage and loss. The payroll system using Microsoft Excel did not support the effective delivery of salary information to employees because it was still manual using paper pay slips. In addition, access to historical data is also inefficient. The proposed solution is to convert the manual system into an online system using the Waterfall System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method. In this study, observations and interviews were used for system design analysis. The results show that the computerized system improves the effectiveness, efficiency, and accuracy of salary reporting.
