Abstract

Manual management of medical record file borrowing and returning can cause delays in information, difficulties in tracking file availability, and suboptimal monitoring of file return status. This study aims to design and develop a medical record management information system that supports the borrowing, approval, returning, and real-time monitoring of medical record files at Hospital X. The system was developed using the Waterfall method, which consists of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and testing. The system was developed as a web-based application integrating several service and medical record management modules. The main features include medical record file borrowing management, borrowing approval, file status monitoring, and notification and identification of overdue returns. The results show that the developed system can provide structured information on file circulation through visual indicators that distinguish borrowed, overdue, and returned file statuses. The system helps medical record staff monitor file circulation more quickly and accurately, improves accountability in medical record management, and supports the efficiency of hospital administrative services.
