DIGITALIZATION OF WAREHOUSE INVENTORY MANAGEMENT AT FANINDO HOUSING THROUGH A JAVA AND MYSQL-BASED INFORMATION SYSTEM

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a desktop-based warehouse inventory system using Java and MySQL at Fanindo Housing RT 002 RW 006. The previous manual inventory management process often caused various problems such as data recording errors, difficulties in searching item data, and discrepancies in stock availability. Therefore, a computerized system was developed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of inventory management processes. This research used the Research and Development (R&D) method with a quantitative approach. The system development process applied the Waterfall method, which includes requirement analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. The application was developed using the Java programming language with NetBeans IDE and MySQL database. The system provides features such as login authentication, item data management, incoming goods, outgoing goods, item searching, and automatic stock management. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method. The results showed that all application features operated properly according to user requirements. The developed system was able to improve the inventory management process to become faster, more accurate, and more organized compared to the previous manual method.
